Last Saturday was a gorgeous day for our Ice Castle Festival & Play Day! More than 450 people came out to Patch Reef Park in Boca to help us celebrate Sunflower’s 20th Anniversary and Susan’s 60th Birthday.
Thank you to everyone who was there– and to Sunflower’s staff, Board and 100 volunteers who worked hard to make the day a success. Special thanks to Ice Sponsors Julie Kelly and Barry Goldman, generous donations from Discount School Supply and the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center, volunteers Amy An, Karyn Conrath, Cindy Hirsch, Jackie Hirsch, birthday cake baker Natalia Monahan (Cakeoration), Lucia Ramos, Ilysia Shattuck, and our very own Managing Director– the amazing Jennifer Ligeti– who organized the whole thing.
As Susan said, “It was a perfect day full of fun, surprises, play, art, beautiful nature, a stunning silver necklace, hugs galore, laughter, the biggest Ice Castle ever and quite a bit of me bursting into happy tears.”

Happy 2013 Bridging Day, Seedlings!
Jaime, Jaime, Jaime — you said a mouthful very succiently and there’s so much more to say! The whole day was almost beyond perfect. Is there such a thing? What a day– the energy was positive and everywhere. It was catchy! The volunteers worked hard to make it happen and under the staffs’ watchful eyes and Jennifer’s terrific organizational skills and love of anything- Sunflower and everything play-oriented, the day went off without a hitch. What a marvelous experience it was. Can’t wait for the next one.
Slide show is awesome too. Thanks for everything and bringing it together with this blog and pix. Can Susan turn 60 again next year? We want another birthday party. ;) Karyn

I loved looking at all the pics from the ice castle day! It looks like you all had such a wonderful time. Looking at the pics brought happy tears to my eyes and helped me to feel like a part of the celebration.
